Dr. Christian Shortt grew up here in South Lyon shadowing this very office for many years and always knew dentistry was in his future. After attending South Lyon East high school, he went to Miami of Ohio University graduating with a Bachelor of Science. The next educational stop was Rutgers where he got his master’s degree in Biomedical Science and Research.
After Rutgers, Dr. Christian Shortt chose to attend the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, just as Dr. William and Dr. Therese Shortt did, to earn his Doctorate. At Michigan, Christian met his wife, Juhi, who was also in the program. They graduated together in April of 2022 and now happily practice here in the community.
Dr. Christian Shortt is currently performing extractions, implants, root canals, crowns, bridges, and restorative dentistry here in South Lyon along with two days a week up in West Branch, MI. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the Michigan Dental Association. He recently graduated from the Resnik Surgical institute and passed his implant fellowship exam.
Dr. Christian has gone on mission trips to the Dominican Republic to perform emergency dentistry. Drs. Christian & Juhi live locally in Brighton with their daughter and puppy. When not in practice, Dr. Christian enjoys playing basketball, golf, wakeboarding, snowboarding, surfing, kiteboarding, hydrofoils, scuba diving, soccer, and sand volleyball
Juhi Shortt, DDS

Dr. Juhi Shortt grew up in Toronto, ON. She began her education at the University of Toronto, where she received a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Cell & Systems Biology and Genetics & Molecular biology in 2017 before she moved to Ann Arbor, MI to complete her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree at the University of Michigan in 2022 – where she met and graduated with her husband, Christian.
Dr. Juhi enjoys several disciplines of dentistry including orthodontic treatment, root canals, crowns and bridges, extractions, cosmetic treatment, and Botulinum Toxin treatment. She has a passion for educating patients in oral health and helping them maintain beautiful smiles! She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and American Orthodontic Society.
Drs. Juhi & Christian live locally in Brighton with their daughter and puppy. Juhi enjoys spending time with her family and dogs when she isn’t at the office. She loves to go on hikes, boat rides, and explore new cuisines.
William A. Shortt, DDS

Dr. William Shortt received his Bachelor of Science degree from Alma College then went on to attend the University of Michigan Dental School graduating with Dr. Therese in 1987.
Dr. Bill performs all aspects of general dentistry but is highly trained in oral surgery and implantology becoming certified through the renowned Misch Institute in 2000. He has extracted thousands of wisdom teeth and placed well over a thousand implants. He specializes in complex cases with implants as well as implant retained dentures.
Dr. Bill likewise performs root canals, crown and bridge work and traditional dentistry. He has logged hundreds of hours of continuing education over the 30 years of practice. Our office has the state-of-the-art Cerec system which enables our doctors to fabricate and mill a porcelain crown in one appointment. It can also produce an ideal crown for restoring an implant. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and the International Committee of Implantology.
Dr. Bill is a commercial pilot and a member of the Flying Dentists, an organization dedicated to mission work. He, along with Dr. Therese & Dr. Christian have flown on dental mission trips with staff and dental students to underserved communities in Jamaica and the Dominican Republic. He enjoys flying in airshows, snowboarding, kite surfing, water skiing, biking, hunting and fishing, especially when any of the above are done with his three children & grandchildren!
Therese Shortt, DDS

Dr. Therese Shortt graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and continued to attend the University of Michigan Dental School, considered the number one dental school in the world, graduating in 1987 with her husband, Bill.
She performs all aspects of dentistry including root canals, crown and bridge work, Invisalign orthodontics, and sleep apnea appliances. Cosmetic cases are her specialty, and she enjoys changing an individuals’ confidence and ability to smile! She and the other doctors log hundreds of continuing education hours improving their techniques and equipment. The office is state of the art with in-office crown milling and 3D Cone beam x-rays for complex implant cases. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Michigan Dental Association, the Academy of Cosmetic Dentists, the International Committee of Implantologists, and the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Shortt is currently an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the University of Michigan Dental School and teaches students in the clinic part-time.
Drs. Therese and Bill live in South Lyon, enjoy their time with children and especially their grandchildren! Therese enjoys playing piano, skiing, biking, and running in her spare time.
